After a long and rigorous process,Mercygrace Kavata and Richard Oloo were on Saturday unveiled as this year’s Mr and Miss Multimedia University of Kenya respectively.
The final phase of the contest was held at the Bomas of Kenya on Saturday in a night filled with pomp and glamour mark the grand finale of Multimedia University of Kenya (MMU) cultural week.
The annual activity that provides an opportunity to celebrate and appreciate the diverse cultures within the university saw students compete for the top slot as they promoted diverse talents.
The event, attracted cheers and jeers in equal measures from the audience as the beauties and hunks strutted the runway in a bid to display their talent and outdo each other. The show recorded ground-breaking attendance as the hall was filled to capacity.
Miss Kavata is a second-year journalism student.
“The competition has been tough and stiff as all the girls brought their A-game to the table, but I managed to beat them all. That is something I had hoped for, but I wasn’t sure about it… though I still pushed through. This was the second time I was trying my luck after I failed to win the title last year,” she said.
For the up-and-coming talented models, she has a word for you, “Try as much as you can and once you fail get up and try again. Never get tired of working on what you want and definitely go for it despite the hurdles.”
The winners are expected to come up with projects and engage in different activities in and out of school a challenge they both said were comfortable and ready to handle.
At The Campus Lady Magazine, we would love to wish the winners all the best as they plan and execute projects that would be of benefit to the community.
